Welcome to the “2024 Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Child” website (hereinafter referred to as “the Site”). This collaborative project brings together several partner organisations, including Professor Philip D. Jaffé, the City of Geneva, Enfants du Monde, Terre des Hommes Suisse and Save the Children. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, share and manage your personal data in the context of this project, with the aim of gathering signatures of global endorsement for a new “2024 Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Child”.
1. Data controller
The “2024 Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Child” website is managed collectively by several partner organisations (Professor Philip D. Jaffé, the City of Geneva, Enfants du Monde, Terre des Hommes Suisse, and Save the Children), which jointly assume responsibility for the processing of personal data collected via this site.
A project coordinator has been appointed to coordinate all data protection issues between the partners. Under this joint responsibility, she is responsible for :
• Data security: Ensuring that technical and organisational measures are properly implemented to protect user data against unauthorised access, in collaboration with technical partners.
• Responses to users’ rights: Managing requests to exercise users’ rights (access, rectification, deletion, etc.) and ensuring they are processed by the partners concerned.
• Notification of security incidents: In the event of a data breach, coordinate notification to the data protection authorities and users concerned, in accordance with legal requirements (RGPD and LPD).

2. Personal data collected
As part of signing the declaration and using the services offered by the Site, we collect the following personal data:
• First name and surname: used to display signatories
• Function and organisation: used to display signatories
• Age: used to display child signatories.
• Country: used to give partner organisations an overview of the geographical distribution of endorsers (this information is not displayed publicly on the site).
• E-mail address: Used to verify that the user is a real person and not a robot.
This data is collected with your consent and is essential for monitoring your endorsement.
3. Purposes of data use
The purpose of the information collected is to :
• Register and confirm your endorsement for the “2024 Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Child” ;
• Check that the signatories are people, not robots.
4. Data sharing
The personal information you provide will not be shared outside the project partners.
5. Security and data protection
We implement organisational and technical security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or destruction. Our service providers are also required to comply with high security standards and may only process your data for the purposes defined by the project.
